Nawal Khalid Ramay is a Post New York Bar Law Clerk whose legal career is grounded in early ambition, strong academic training, and a genuine commitment to supporting clients through challenging situations. She knew she wanted to practice law from an early age, and that certainty shaped a path defined by curiosity, hard work, and dedication to thoughtful advocacy.


Nawal earned her LL.B with Honors from the University of London, where she strengthened her analytical skills through editorial work with the Pakistan Law Review and the PCLRP Student Journal of Law, and earned distinction in international human rights coursework. She represented Pakistan as part of the National Champion Team in several international moot court competitions, including the Phillip C. Jessup in Washington, DC, and the ICRC Henry Dunant in Kathmandu, Nepal.


After serving as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, the Hon. Gulzar Ahmed, and to the first female Supreme Court Justice of Pakistan, the Hon. Ayesha A. Malik, she completed her LL.M. at Columbia Law School. During her time at Columbia, her achievements included serving on the editorial board of the Columbia Journal of Environmental Law, earning runner-up status in the Ruben Mark Organizational Leadership Case Competition, and participating in the Global Law and Business Seminar, where she completed certification in cross-border M&A transactions and negotiations. She also supported advanced research projects, including assisting a Columbia Law School professor with a matter involving complex M&A issues, antitrust concerns, and legal malpractice, resulting in a multimillion-dollar settlement.


Within the firm, Nawal has developed a strong foundation in litigation and legal research across a wide range of civil matters. She has taken on responsibilities involving education law, personal injury, medical malpractice, employment and labor disputes, and civil rights litigation. Her work includes discovery, depositions, legal research, motion drafting, and appellate brief preparation for state and federal courts.


She approaches each case with careful attention to detail and a structured, analytical mindset. She enjoys breaking down complex issues step by step and values the collaborative nature of client work. Helping clients understand their options, stay organized, and feel supported throughout the process is central to her practice. She recently passed the New York Bar Exam and is completing the final steps of the licensing process.


Nawal’s background blends global and domestic experience. Raised in Lahore and educated in Pakistan and the United States, she brings a comparative perspective to her work. Outside of work, she enjoys long mountain drives and reading history books. Her academic depth, practical experience, and thoughtful approach to client service shape the steady and well-rounded perspective she brings to the firm each day.
