Thomas Terrill is the Director of the National Education Defense Practice Group at the LLG National Law Firm, where he leads a nationwide team that helps students, parents, and educators navigate complex issues within the education system. Drawing on more than a decade of combined experience in academic leadership and legal advising, Thomas bridges the gap between education and law to provide clear, practical solutions when clients feel overwhelmed or unheard. His approach is grounded in empathy, strategy, and a profound understanding of how schools and universities function.

Before joining the LLG National Law Firm, Thomas built his career within both secondary and higher education. He has extensive experience developing student success programs and teaching first-year seminars focused on academic adjustment and student engagement.

Earlier, Thomas worked as Director of Student Activities and a teacher at Chaminade High School in New York, overseeing more than 50 student organizations and leading a team of over 75 faculty and staff moderators. His work fostered a strong culture of collaboration, creativity, and leadership among students, helping them learn how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. These experiences continue to inform his work in education law today, giving him a rare perspective that blends administrative insight, classroom experience, and legal knowledge.

At the LLG National Law Firm, Thomas focuses his practice on non-litigation education matters, offering counsel on Title IX compliance, academic discipline, and school policy issues. He regularly advises students, faculty, and families on navigating sensitive or high-stakes situations, helping them understand their rights and responsibilities within the framework of the educational setting. In addition to his direct client work, Thomas trains and supports the Education Defense Team across the firm, strengthening internal expertise in education-related strategy and student advocacy.

Thomas earned his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law in Queens, New York, where he received the prestigious St. Thomas More full-tuition scholarship and completed a study-abroad program in Rome. He also holds a Master of Arts in Theology from Saint Joseph’s Seminary & College and a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Miami.

Beyond his professional life, Thomas enjoys traveling, exploring new destinations, and spending time outdoors, particularly in warm, sunny places. His curiosity about the world around him mirrors the approach he brings to his work: thoughtful, grounded, and always centered on helping others move forward with purpose.
