Rachel Laubis is an Education Advisor who brings a rare blend of legal training, empathy, and persistence to her work with students and families. Her interest in advocacy began when she met a man who had been wrongfully convicted. That experience made her realize that she could use her education and her own life experiences to stand beside people who are facing overwhelming circumstances. It continues to guide her approach to every student she supports.
Rachel earned her law degree from Brooklyn Law School, where she completed a certificate in criminal law after studying forensic psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Her time in school strengthened her curiosity about how people think, how institutions operate, and where those institutions fall short. She worked with organizations dedicated to correcting past injustices and gained experience investigating innocence claims, interviewing clients and witnesses, drafting legal memoranda, and preparing materials for clemency and post-conviction matters. These roles taught her how to listen carefully, manage sensitive information, and uncover details that others have overlooked.
Before joining LLG National Law Firm, Rachel held various positions that required strong communication skills and a steady presence. She contributed to true crime podcasts and media projects, handled outreach to victims, families, and offenders, and managed interviews for complex cases. She also supported professionals who work with vulnerable communities by managing calendars, scheduling, and client communication. In every role, she prioritized building trust and making sure the people she serves feel supported rather than judged.
At LLG, Rachel is energized by the opportunity to help students protect their education. She has always loved school and believes deeply in the doors it can open. Supporting students who are trying to stay enrolled, especially first-year students who made a mistake early on, is the part of her job that matters most. She understands how overwhelming that first year can be and works hard to ensure her clients get a fair and thoughtful response from their institutions.
Rachel is proud to be the first person in her immediate family to graduate from high school, attend college, and later earn a law degree. That personal history helps her connect with students who feel pressure to succeed without a roadmap or support system.
Outside of work, Rachel is an avid traveler who has visited nearly fifty countries. She also volunteers with animal rescue organizations in the United States, Mexico, and Central America, helping abused and abandoned dogs find safe homes. She is a long-time true crime fan and continues to freelance for media projects, with hopes of creating her own podcast in the future.
